I completed one of the punchneedle projects I picked up at the quilt show last year. This is my third punchneedle project I have done. The think tank is still trying to decide how to display the first two. This design is from Threads that bind,by Shawn Williams. I've ordered 4 designs from this site so far, plus the wool backing and the frames. I love that she has everything right there.
This is the back of the of the design, you punch the embroidery through from the back with a special tool....
...and you end up with this wonderful piece of art to display!
I used heat and bond to fuse the wool to the weavers cloth. Threads
that bind also has instructions on their website for framing. I didn't
use sticky board like they suggest, I just wrapped it around the glass
that came with the frame. I used satin acrylic craft paint by Martha Stewart to paint the frame.
