Follow the yellow brick road....
Finished this commissioned Wizard of Oz bag, but its so dang cute I want to keep it for myself! I will get three other bags out of the rest of the two panels I bought from this fabric line. Each will be one-of-a-kind cause I only bought one of each panel and this was a couple years ago so you can't get it anymore!

Table Runner
I made this cute table runner for Auntie Ann and her friends annual Christmas dinner at their local church. Everyone decorates there table with a theme and they get very competitive. So this year their theme is "Happy Birthday Jesus".
Then I made the back with a fancier print so they can use it next year for a sophisticated theme. I figured the back might as well be functional, plus that saves me from making another one next year! The year after that I'm sure I'm out of luck!
I have the block put together on my "In the garden" quilt. I have two more borders to put on then I can show you the finished top. Still have not decided how I'm going to quilt it yet. Terri says to hand quilt it but I have never hand quilted....So I'm thinking of doing both and doing a stitch in the ditch on all the straight lines then adding hand quilting throughout. We'll see... lots of time to decide!

I saved the best...
for last. Why is this the best? Well, it has chickens on it! The pattern had black fabric for the chickens but they looked like crows to some people so I made mine yellow and made one a rooster. I also added the tiny lazy daisy stitch on the top to make a comb for each chicken. I think it turned out excellent!
Tomorrow I'm getting together with some quilty friends to stitch for the day. I plan on putting this bad boy together and getting the first border on. I haven't decided what to use for the final second border yet. So nice to have all the blocks done! It is so hard to believe I only started this in August!

Herb Garden
This is my 8th block!! One more to go! I really like the herb garden with the path and circle fountain or birdbath in the middle. Now I can start putting some of the these together and make some decisions on what to use for the border.

Fruit-n-Veggie bag
I just finished one of my Fruit-n-Veggie bags for my Etsy customer. It is all set to mail out on Tuesday (Monday being a holiday). I also have some Wizard of Oz panels that I might use to make a couple of these bags too. Wouldn't that be fun!
We have been trying to enjoy the warmer weather while its here. Jim started painting the garage after a week of scraping. Hopefully it won't take long to get it done. I'll let you know!

A creative mess ...
...is better than tidy idleness.
I keep saying I want to clean my studio but I just keep stitching.. Not that it's a bad thing! I got this block done and the next one is almost ready to be pieced and I just started stitching the last one!! But even more exciting that that... I sold one of my b vegetable bags on Etsy!! When I went to that craft show with my Aunt I carried my bag around and I had business cards with my Esty address on them and when someone asked about my bag I gave them a card...and it paid off! So guess what I'll be doing this weekend. I have the panels all ready to go I just need to put it all together.
Unfortunately the job I thought I would be getting fell through, I probably jinxed it by talking about it too much! Well I better get back to stitching, currently watching Season 3 of the Mentalist. It helps the stitching time go faster.

Chapel Hill Arts & Craft Show
Yesterday morning I went with my Auntie Ann and friend Lynn to the Chapel Hill Arts & Crafts show. It was at the Berrien County Youth Fairgrounds in Berrien Springs, MI. We had a wonderful time. We got there right at 8am when it opened and spent over 3 hours walking around enjoying all the fabulous talent on display! I even saw my next door neighbor and her mother at their booth. They travel around to a lot of craft shows selling the cutest kids clothes.
I had to have this little wooden spool painted with my dream farm yellow house and barn!
Isn't it darling! Amazing detail on such a ting spool! And I love the old price of 15¢. I also had to have this nook cover made out of an old hard cover book and covered in recycled jeans! The lens cloth in the pocket alone is a fabulous thing to have!

I will have to get used to having it in the cover cause I've gotten used to holding it on its own. I think it will be good for it to be protected. The elastic straps are quite tight so its held very securely. The inside cover is a soft cloth to help protect the screen. Such a fun thing, don't you think! Well of course 3 hours shopping wasn't enough for my Aunt and Lynn! We then proceeded to go to 3 or 4 more stores until we were finally done around 3:30! At least we ended at Joann's were I found some fabulous chicken fabric!!
